First Camping & Beach Trip

Jeremy had a few days off in a row this past weekend so we decided to take Rylyn on her first camping trip! We choose Seaside on the Oregon coast because we've been there a lot and know it well - we didn't want too many surprises in case it didn't go well haha!

Overall the trip went great - Rylyn kept to her usual sleeping habits (about 3-5 hour stretches) and the dogs were very happy to get some time to run on the beach.

Here are some pics... You know I took about 100!

30 Weeks

The belly seriously grows SO much in a week during this 3rd trimester, it's crazy. I'm barely fitting into my hospital uniform scrubs.... Might have to switch to just wearing my scrub jacket (seems to be the uniform of choice for the many pregnant girls at my work... You can wear a black t-shirt under the jacket and just button at least one button - I will get a picture this week!).

Jeremy, the pups and I all went to the coast again this week. We had a wonderful Valentines day dinner at our favorite Cannon Beach restaurant, the Irish Table. It's a small little place with a small menu but it is SO yummy. Our favorite part of the meal was the savory lobster bisque- had many big chunks of lobster, yummy. The weather wasn't very good this week but we managed to get one day on the beach to let the dogs play when it wasn't pouring rain, and of course I got some pictures:

"Camping"

We recently decided to take the plunge and purchase something we have been talking about for the past couple of years: a travel trailer! It has already been so much fun and we've only had it a month or so. Here are a few pictures from my phone, from our adventures.

Not Quite A HoneyMoon

But we did get to escape for a quick overnight mini camping trip out in Tillamook, Oregon at Jeremys parents property. We spent the amazingly gorgeous day at the river - went out for pizza - had a campfire and roasted marshmallows- then slept in our tent. It was a quick trip but lots of fun. I have pics on my camera to upload still, but here's an iPhone photo or two for now. By the way- this blog is posted via my phone- SO happy Blogger finally made an app :) yup, I'm a dork!

Photos!

A couple weeks ago we received ALL the photos from our engagement shoot with Honeysuckle Photography... to be honest, there were quite a few pictures that turned out really good! I had my doubts and was worried I wouldn't be able to pick enough that I liked!  Here are a couple that aren't online anywhere yet, but go to their website by clicking HERE to see more.

Engagement Photos

Another item off the checklist, a really fun one!

On Monday Jeremy and I met with our wedding photographers to have our engagement pictures taken. I was so worried all week because the weather has been awful and rainy and cloudy... not ideal for having outdoor pictures taken!   However, we lucked out and got a few hours of sunny, relatively warm weather!  Our pics were taken at Edgefield McMenamins and The Vista House - great choices by our awesome photographers - I loved the variety at McMenamins, and the view and sunset at Vista House were so amazing.

Here is a link to a "Sneak Peek" of our pictures, the rest should be available in a few weeks ---> Honeysuckle Photography

Happy Birthday Jeremy!

Jeremy turned 28 a few weeks ago - to celebrate we had a little get together at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was kind of last minute, so we were both really pleased with how many people showed up. It was great to see some of Jeremys good friends from Forest Grove come out our way to celebrate!  And hot wings and beer are always great too :)

The weekend before the dinner we headed out to the coast (surprise surprise right?). I had been wanting to spend a few nights in Cannon Beach since it had been quite a while since we had been there.  We ended up only staying one night, but it was awesome.  I found a really nice beach front hotel, did some research & got a really sweet deal - ok so it helped that it's winter and a Sunday night, but still, I was happy. Cutter was happy too because he got to come along, and the hotel even had a special basket of goodies waiting for him when we arrived!

Seaside was our first stop, we browsed a few shops and walked around for a while - Cutter at one point deciding he really had to poop, and proceeded to do so RIGHT ON THE SIDEWALK.  After that we figured it was time to move on to our final destination!

The hotel in Cannon Beach was up on a hill, and right as we drove up I knew it was a good decision. Like I mentioned before they had a gift basket of dog stuff for us right when we got there, which of course I thought was very cool.  When we walked into our room the first thing you noticed was Haystack Rock righhhhhht there. The room had a big window and sliding glass door to a balcony and seriously directly in front of us was the giant Haystack Rock.  Our timing was great, sunset was just starting. If you know me you know I'm a little obsessed with sunsets - I immediately dropped my stuff and went to deck to enjoy it. We opened a beer to share and just relaxed while the sun set next to Haystack.  I did take a few pictures, but I wanted to just enjoy the beauty too so tried not to focus on that. We later went out to dinner and then came back to play some board games and shared some yummy champagne. Oh, I forgot to mention the adorable and warm fireplace in our room - so we got to enjoy the sunset next to the fire. Perfection, no?

The next morning Jeremy ventured out in the pouring rain to get us some coffee and muffins. The rain slowly stopped and we went down to the beach (Cutter was dying to get out there!) and let the kid play... he mostly just ran after birds and dug holes, but it's always fun to watch how happy he gets.

*I keep getting server errors from Blogger when I try to upload pictures so look for a pictures only post later...
