First Camping & Beach Trip

Jeremy had a few days off in a row this past weekend so we decided to take Rylyn on her first camping trip! We choose Seaside on the Oregon coast because we've been there a lot and know it well - we didn't want too many surprises in case it didn't go well haha!

Overall the trip went great - Rylyn kept to her usual sleeping habits (about 3-5 hour stretches) and the dogs were very happy to get some time to run on the beach.

Here are some pics... You know I took about 100!

Professional Family Photos

We were honored to have Maggie from Honeysuckle Photography out to our house a couple weeks ago to capture our little family. She is the same one who took all the amazing photos from our engagement & wedding a few years back (want to see them again? click here and here).  It was a lot of fun and surprisingly Rylyn and the dogs mostly cooperated!  Ok so Rylyn did cry when I attempted to put her little bow on, but oh well, Jeremy didn't want her to wear it anyways!!  Here are a few pictures, but click on this link to see more:  Meet Baby Rylyn.

29 Weeks

Time is really starting to fly by, seems like just yesterday I was finding out I was pregnant. Ok that's a lie, it actually seems like a really long time! I'd be lying if I said a nice big glass of wine didn't sound amazing right about now :) but I will happily abstain for another few months - I want this little girl as healthy as possible! So far she seems to be growing well... At my appointment today my doctor said "wow your belly is ALL baby!". She also said I've gained an appropriate amount of weight (which if you're dying to know is about 20 pounds) - she said I could and might gain about a pound a week until the baby is born, ah! That's a lot more weight! How is my body handling it so far you ask? Well, I have good days and bad days... After my prenatal massage Wendsesday, the good days are more frequent this week! Last week my sciatic pain was close to unbearable at times.... Made for VERY long 12 hour shifts at work. I'm hopeful this weekend will be better (and I've scheduled another massage in a few weeks... Might have to move it up a week if it gets bad again!).

In other news, we have snow! About 3-5 inches surprisingly. Kona is loving running around in it, and then plopping down by the fire to dry off. Jeremy and I have been luckily enough to have the last two nights off but we both go back to work tomorrow night so fingers crossed the weather gets better or at least doesn't get any worse. Have I mentioned how much I love my commute to work now that it's only about 15 minutes?!

Some pictures from this week:

Drinking the glucose drink... You have to chug it within five minutes then come back and hour later to get your blood drawn. It was like a room temperature sprite with a ton of extra syrup in it. Not so good!

A Year Later

It's been a busy year in our house with so many changes so I figured it was a good time to resurrect the old blog! To make a long story short here's what's new:

-Kona (our now 1 year old black lab puppy)
-5th Wheel (much bigger and heavier and nicer then the old travel trailer we traded in)
-New job for me (closer to home & full time charge nurse.. On nights)
-Jeremy is also on night shift for this rotation

That's about it... Oh wait, one other small thing... I'm Pregnant! In April we will welcome a little boy or girl into our house. Super exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!
