Viva Las Vegas

Jeremy and I went to Vegas at the beginning of the month - good friends of ours decided they wanted to get married while they were going to be there for a vacation - so we had to be there as well! It was perfect weather the whole time... Both Jeremy and I just love the sunshine :) Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

Lack of Blogging...

Well I'd like to say we are super busy doing all these different things and that is why I have not blogged in a while... however, that is not really true! We did just get back from a long weekend trip to Las Vegas to celebrate our good friends Amber and Pete getting married, but other then that we are just doing the daily life thing.

I am still working at the hospital, both day and night shifts (which is okay, but makes sleep sometimes tough!) and Jeremy is still working part time as a personal trainer. He is actively working to find full time work, but unfortunately not quite there yet.

Cutter is just being a crazy puppy - he has grown SO much in the last few months! He loves our trips to the beach and up to the field to play fetch. Since it is starting to become sunny, I anticipate many more outdoor trips to help him get some exercise... he's craaaaazy in the apartment some days! Jeremy and I just hold onto the walls and laugh when he gets in one of his moods - he will just sprint around, jumping off the couch and running into whatever gets in his way. I tried to video tape it but he moves so quick it just looked like a blur going by!

iphone

According to Wikipedia: The iPhone is a line of Internet- and multimedia-enabled smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. It functions as a camera phone(also including text messaging and visual voicemail), a portable media player (equivalent to a video iPod), and an Internet client (with e-mail,web browsing, and Wi-Fi connectivity). The user interface is built around the device's multi-touch screen, including a virtual keyboard in lieu of a physical keyboard. Third-party applications are available from the App Store, which launched in mid-2008 and now has well over 100,000 "apps" approved by Apple, with functionalities ranging from games to reference to productivity.

According to Jeremy, it is love. He literally said "I love my new phone" - and then jokingly told me goodbye. Very funny. Anyways, we splurged this weekend and upgraded to iphones and are now both loving all the handy features (like the app that tells us how much money we are spending each month, and exactly where - hello Starbucks obsession).

I lost my old phone, so if you have my number and feel I should have yours - send me a text letting me know who you are! :)

I Hope You're Wearing Green Today!

"May there always be work for your hands to do.
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane.
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you."

i had to work last night, so to help my patients celebrate i decided to write in green pen on all the rooms whiteboards and draw them each a shamrock. i do not draw very well, but i think they got the idea (well, the few that even noticed!). i also was wearing my lovely plastic jewelry i picked up at the party store when my mom was in town a few weeks ago (thanks mom!).

today jeremy has to work and he has to get up early tomorrow morning, so we may or may not be going out for some green beers. we did get to celebrate quite thoroughly on friday night at my parents house, so i don't feel too bad if we don't get out tonight!

here is a little history lesson and a fun fact for the day:
* It is believed that Saint Patrick's Day has been celebrated in Ireland since before the 1600s. It was also believed to have served as a one-day break during Lent, the forty day period of fasting. This would involve drinking alcohol; something which became a tradition.

* Seattle and other cities paint the traffic stripe of their parade routes green. Chicago dyes its river green and has done so since 1962 when sewer workers used green dye to check for sewer discharges and had the idea to turn the river green for Saint Patrick's Day. Originally 100 pounds of vegetable dye was used to turn the river green for a whole week but now only forty pounds of dye is used and the colour only lasts for several hours.

Quick Trip to the Beach!

Yesterday morning Jeremy and I were deciding what to do for the day and first of all whether to go get Starbucks coffee or just make it at home (which is obviously the better choice, but sometimes we both just need a Starbucks) when I came up with the idea of driving out to the coast for the night. Well Jeremy had to work today, so spending the night was out, but we both agreed that it would at least be fun to spend the day letting Cutter run around on the beach and see if he liked the water or would be scared of it.An hour or so later we had finally packed up the car and picked up our Starbucks and were on the road to Cannon Beach. It was rainy and cloudy on the drive out there, but as we got over the mountains it was really sunny, yay! However, this changed as we drove into town... it was raining pretty good... but such is life in the Northwest :) We walked around and went to a couple of my favorite little shops (Puppy Love By the Sea) and then went down to the beach and let Cutter lose. He LOVED it. Absolutely went crazy sniffing the sand, and the water, and chasing his tennis ball into the water - he even swam! It was so so so much fun watching him. I tried to take a bunch of pictures, but it was very rainy so a lot didn't turn out. I did manage to get a quick video and a few good pics:
